HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA....Oooohhh....let me catch my breath!...

Okay, that's better. Whoo!...So, as Brittany Spears would say, "Oops, Favre did it again!" And I only mention her because I hold them both in equal esteem. The best part is that for the past 2 years my big argument against Favre's "irreplaceability," that some Packer fans always argued (my older brother included, ad nauseam), was his always, ALWAYS "Favreing" up the game in the last seconds...always making that patented Favre interception when the team needed him most and when the team was poised, POISED to win the game! What the Favre, Favre??? And right before that last interception, when the Vikings were poised to win the game, I muttered softly--not really actually believing it possible--that "if Favre were still a Packer he'd throw an interception right now." AND THEN HE DOES!!!

What the!???...HOW THE!???...HOW--HOW IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE THAT HE CONTINUES TO DO THIS!!!??? I mean, really, you'd think the law of averages would demand that in one of these playoffs he wouldn't Favre it up like this, wouldn't you?

Unbelievable. Well, not really. But REALLY!

So yeah, I'm happy that Favre and the Vikings fell flat again. I loved Favre as a Packer even though his "reckless gunslinger" act grew very, very old (see above "Favre ups" mentioned). And we all know of his tiresome off-season acts, and that's when I became a "Favre despiser." Hey, I love a good waffle (especially with strawberries, whipped cream and warm maple syrup), but I hater a waffler.

And I hate the Vikings. And their fans. So seeing them flop after, seemingly, another brilliant run towards the Superbowl was extremely gratifying. I shudder at the thought of having had to hear them incessantly brag for the next year (or 50) about having the "perennial Packer" finally bring them to the promised land--like they all did all regular season, my older brother Paul included. Ahhh...I can already hear the beautiful silence emanating from that side of the Mighty Mississippi and it's just delightful.

Yep, you got him Vikings landed the "perrenial Packer"...the "first ballot Hall-of Famer"..the record-breaking, touchdown throwing, longest consecutive games played streak, most touchdowns, most retirements and coming out of retirements, most interceptions and the biggest Favreing choker to ever play the game!

And so, in a very petty way, I will end this blog as it began by saying, HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!! sweet.

Howdy all!

Well, with the new graphic novel coming out in May (BB Wolf) and the reprinting of THREE FINGERS piggybacking the new release, it's time for me to shore up my travel/con plans for 2010. And, apparently, the big cons out there have been doing a little "schedule shuffling" and it's causing other shows to shuffle as well so they're not all bunched up on the same month, or in some cases same weekend (as you'll note momentarily! Stay with me...).

Here's a list of shows that I (so far) plan on attending thus far...

WonderCon, San Francisco April 2-4

Comic-Con International, San Diego July 22-25

WizardWorld, Chicago August 19-22

SPX, Bethesda, MD September 26-27

APE, San Francisco October 16-17 (Heck! I'm even a "Special Guest" at this one!)

And lastly Minneapolis' fantastic Fallcon! Which you'll now note has been changed to "SpringCon!" as I alluded to in my opening paragraph. Below is the official press release from the boys at Fallcon and I will gladly post it here to help spread the word as these guys are some of the finest folks you'll ever meet in comics or anywhere else for that matter!!!

Spread the word!...

Dear Friends,

We got really good news last week! As most of you know, a lot of the national comic book conventions have changed their event dates for 2010. It started when one of the largest conventions in the country suddenly moved their date to the late fall and quickly, in response, a good chunk of the other conventions followed suit in changing dates. As a result, the MCBA was put into the position of having to move our dates so we wouldn’t have to compete for guest creators. Easier said than done!

Fortunately for all of us, our preferred venue, the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, came through with flying colors! They were able to make space for us in the new world comic book convention date order with a slight and very interesting twist!

The Midwest Comic Book Association is pleased to announce our 2010 event dates:

Minnesota State Fairgrounds In the Grandstand 1265 Snelling Avenue North Saint Paul, Minnesota 55108 Something For Everyone & Everyone Welcome!

MCBA FALLCON – COMIC BOOK PARTY! October 16, 2010 – 10AM to 5PM

Minnesota State Fairgrounds Progress Center 1621 Randall Ave Saint Paul, Minnesota 55108 Something For Everyone & Everyone Welcome!

So, in other words, the two day convention will now be held in the spring (SpringCon) and FallCon will be the new one day convention in the Fall!

We’re really excited about the opportunities and challenges that our new journey presents to all of us and invite you and all members of our community to join us as we set sail into the great and exciting unknown!

Finally, a request. We need your help to get the word out to our community about our new dates and times. We humbly request that you provide any assistance you might be able to offer via your e-mails, secret messages, magic, websites, tweeting, blogs, internet, snail mails, telegraph, word of mouth, Pony Express, etc. Any effort you can extend, would be noticed and gracefully accepted!

We appreciate your being a part of our community and THANK YOU for letting us be part of yours! Look for more info and databits in the near future!

The MCBA Geek Squad (The Original Geek Squad)

And a Happy New Year, too!

Happy New Year to all. Oh, except the losers who are inhabiting our upper floor of our duplex in Wisconsin who don't feel that they have to pay their rent on time that is--or pay it at all, really. Oh, and the guy up in Canada who stole a piece of 3 Geeks art and used it for his company logo for 6 years even though I very politely asked him not to and had to spend several thousand dollars to legally get him to cease and desist and then the courts ordered him to stop and compensate me for damages which, apparently, just like every other request, he has chosen to simply ignore. Oh, and the Canadian court system which, apparently, doesn't care if these losers show up in court or pay what they're supposed to and I'd have to spend thousands more to get the thousands he's been ordered to pay me and then spend thousands more to get recompensated for the thousands I spent to get the original thousands in the first place...

But everyone else?...HAPPY FRIGGIN' NEW YEAR!

Here's hoping that 2010 is MUCH better than 2009 which was freaking brutal for us. I am bound and determined to make 2010 as stress free as humanly possible starting with the eviction now in process for the aforementioned "losers" dug in like ticks in our duplex in WI (yep, that's gonna be another couple thousand, folks! weeee...).

2010 WILL be better, by Crom! It has to be. There's only one way up from the bottom, right?

A'ight, moving on...Spent last night at our new friends, Jon & Terry "Bean" Hastings playing Wii with Stella and having some good laughs. Wonderful people and you should seek out Jon's books when you get the chance. Jon and I will also be appearing at the next Slave Labor Graphics mini-Con held at their store/warehouse on January 16th if you're in the vicinity. Dan Vado was the founder of APE (Alternative Press Expo) which began in San Jose in the late 90s and is now a major event in comicdom. He's starting up this new con and I'm pretty optimistic it's going to grow into something special.

In other news...

Now that BB Wolf & The Three L.P.s has been officially slated for May 2010 along with the long-awaited second printing of Three Fingers I can move forward with my next BIG project! Unfortunately, at the time of my writing this blog, I'm not exactly sure what exactly that project is. Here's the rub...I've got 3 or 4 extremely solid, extremely fleshed out ideas that I've been itchin' to dive into and there's just one of me. So I've got to decide which one I like best. Again, unfortunately, I like 'em all equally. I guess I'll have to lay them all out in front of me and see what mood I'm in that moment and just go! And one of the ideas is pretty massive (as in ongoing series) so that one I might shelve until I can find another artist for the art duties and I just write the darn thing.

But I digress...

Needless to say, you'll be seeing some exciting new things this summer on the con circuit. If all goes according to plan I'll have three new books hitting this summer alongside a possible portfolio and some nice prints.

Y'know, maybe I've got a solid fifth idea I'll have to take a hard look at...maybe call it "My Year In Hell, 2009!" I did mention the loser up in Canada, right? Loser tenants, 5 weeks of pneumonia, a hernia surgery thrown in... Could be cathartic to write.
